Photographers Laura King and Henry Whittaker bonded over their love for the camera and the ocean.
The pair, aged 26 and 30 respectively, met in Belize working alongside a marine conservation organisation. “We quickly bonded over our love of diving and photography and became friends,” explains Laura. “Over the years our friendship grew stronger and stronger until we finally realised that there was more to our relationship.”
They creative couple opted for an intimate wedding ceremony on February 4, 2017, given most of Laura’s family could not attend. Their 14 guests were invited to The Guildhall in Bath, Somerset, to celebrate their love. “We later had a reception with the rest of the family and friends in South Africa,” she says.
Laura says the intimate ceremony made everyone feel special. “We didn’t have a bridal party because everyone at our wedding would have been part of our bridal party,” smiles Laura. “Our wedding was so intimate and lovely, I think that everyone came away from our special day feeling like they were such an integral part of our day.”

Laura’s flattering gown included intricate beading and a sheer neckline.
“I can honestly say, Henry has made me laugh myself silly every single day that we have been together,” praises Laura.
“Our cake was delicious dairy-free cake, which most of our guests said was the best they had ever tasted,” says the bride.
The couple honeymooned at a game reserve in the Western Cape of South Africa.
