Joanne and Tim announced their engagement after an incredibly romantic proposal in the City of Love.
“We arrived at our hotel late afternoon and decided to have a stroll around Paris,” Joanne recalls. “Tim took me to the Bir-Hakeim bridge overlooking the Eiffel Tower where we popped the question. A photographer then took us to various other beautiful places for engagement photographs, and that night Tim took me to dinner and the ballet.”
Big fans of Christmas, the Southport couple knew they wanted a winter wedding. “I really hoped it would snow,” Joanne says.
The pair chose the first day of the Christmas holidays, to accommodate Joanne’s career as a primary school teacher.
On December 21, 2016 Joanne and Tim wed before 96 guests at their elegant glamour wedding at West Tower County in Aughton, Lancashire.
“West Tower was our favourite venue and after viewing this first, nothing else compared,” Joanne smiles. “It’s so pretty and in a perfect location for our family and friends.”
Joanne and Tim advise other future newlyweds to slow down and take in the day. “We woke up the next morning and had to pinch ourselves. It felt like it had all been a dream.”

Joanne chose gold sequin bridesmaid dresses to suit the Christmas theme.
Just over five fee tall, Joanne says she knew she wouldn’t suit anything that hid her frame. “I chose a slim slitting and backless gown. I knew that Tim would love it.”
“Sarah was amazing,” praises Joanne of Sarah Maria Photography. “She was everywhere and we didn’t notice. Her photos are beautiful.”
“From the moment we met, we knew we would be together forever. Our wedding was the perfect day to start the rest of our lives.”
