Genna and Martin put a Scottish twist on classic wedding

It was a case of third time’s a charm when Martin Spears popped the question to girlfriend Genna Marcantonio.

The London pair were strolling through Victoria Park on a gorgeous sunny day when Martin, 25, got down on bended knee.

“After I got Martin to ask me three times, getting Martin very worried during the process, I said yes!” Genna, 31, recalls.

The couple spent 18 months planning their classic wedding, paying tribute to their Scottish roots by heading to glorious Edinburgh for the celebrations on September 7, 2015.

The project manager and IT analyst wed at St John’s the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in front of 180 friends and family.

A classic red bus then took the celebrations to The Balmoral Hotel, which was decorated with classic white blooms, candles and a touch of sparkle.

“It was everything we dreamed of and more,” Genna says.

“Everything went ran smoothly and looking back there is nothing we would change.”

Genna’s strapless gown from La Novia gave the gorgeous bride a classic silhouette.

Martin added a touch of tartan to his classic morning suit.

Genna teamed her statement gown with simple shoes from John Lewis.

The couple first met at work, keeping in touch after Martin changed jobs and then dating soon after.

Elegance was the order of the day when it came to the reception celebrations.
