“Some people will do whatever it takes to meet the right girl.”
Perth bride Isabelle “Izzy” Daunt says in the case of her man Robert Leane, 27, this was showing off his impressive skills of playing guitar and singing – whilst riding a unicycle.
The pair met working at Bankwest and bonded over a business trip to Sydney where they were among six other multi-talented employees invited to feature in the company’s new advertising campaign. Both singers in their private lives, the just-as-talented bride tells us she can “belt out a jazz song with gusto and charisma.”
When their friendship failed to reach “cruising altitude,” the tragic loss of Izzy’s dad led to the realisation they couldn’t be apart. A proposal in Vegas followed and a trip to Disneyland shortly after where in one “perfect moment” the theme for their Perth wedding on April 12, 2014 was born.
“We ran straight for the teacup ride,” says Izzy, 24, of her excitement to fulfill a lifelong dream.
“Through chance timing, the fireworks went off as we were spinning under a sea of colourful lanterns and sky,” she recalls. “The moment was so magical we had to recreate this on our special day.”
Every detail for their outdoor celebration at Mt Eliza House, Kings Park, centred around what they saw in that dizzying experience – a black canvas with bursts of bold colour.
Eighty guests joined them for the ride.
Izzy’s incredible make up is attributed to Creations by Kassy.
“Amazing” is how the bride describes celebrant Wendy Wardell.
Even Izzy’s gown was Disney inspired with beautiful beaded shoulder detailing.
The teacups chandelier was crafted by Barry Leane, the groom’s dad.
