Sharing Christmas dinner with a new girlfriend’s family might sound intimidating to some, but for Peter Price it was when he knew he’d found ‘the one’.
“After only a few weeks of knowing Laura I was invited to the Freeman family Christmas and felt at home with my wife’s family from the start,” Peter says.
Things moved quickly from there; Laura built a close bond with Peter’s two children and the Manchester couple added another daughter to the family.
Peter proposed on a whirlwind trip to Ireland to celebrate Laura’s birthday. Planning then began for the couple’s traditional wedding.
“The wedding planning began 18 months prior to the day and mostly by me, with occasional instructions from Laura,” Peter says.
They wed at Christchurch, Timperley, Cheshire on March 28, 2016 in front of 60 family and friends. A further 30 guests joined in the evening celebrations at Sandhole Oak Barn, which was simply styled with neutral tones and elegant blooms.
Peter’s advice to future DIY wedding planners was simple: “Regardless of time and effort spent, it will be worth it,” he says.
