Jess Lazone and Reuben Humphries got to know each other through music and haven’t looked back.
“We met properly through a friend of ours in Battersea, for whom Reuben played drums for. I went to their gigs, (a lot of their gigs!) and the rest as they say is history!” Jess, 31, says.
The couple had a little boy together in 2014 and a little while later Rueben, 40, popped the question on Christmas eve.
The couple held their intimate Hackney wedding on December 9, 2016. They wed at The Old Church, Stoke Newington, the only surviving Elizabethan church in London, before the couple and their 75 guests continued celebrating at the The Londesbrough Pub.
“Our wedding day was perfect and everything I wanted it to be. It started relaxed, the service was fun and uplifting, and then all our favourite people got to drink, eat and dance together, in a beautiful London pub, listening to music and laughing together,” Jess says.
“There was a lot of love and a lot of happy tears, and I wish I could do it all again.”

“I love foliage and there was loads of it because of the time of year,” Jess says of her wedding flowers.
“I love Reuben for his weird and wonderful mind, his friendship and his love, for being a wonderful father and for loving me despite my quirks,” Jess says.
Rueben’s mum put her heart and soul into creating the couple’s wedding cake.
