With her styled shoot featuring moody hues and an almost grungy style, photographer Grace Hill is encouraging brides to think outside the box.
Grace, who shot her first wedding at just 16, put together her dark romantic woodland wedding inspiration with local vendors near her home of Colchester, Essex.
“The overall concept was to have a dark romantic wedding, with a real couple, in order to create an authentic style to the shoot,” Grace says.
Captains Wood Barn, Maldon, set the scene and models and real-life couple Fiona and Joshua Ogilvie lent their modern grunge look to the shoot.
Eight-hundred carnations were used in the shoot – Grace says she was keen to raise the profile of the flower in the UK and to encourage brides-to-be to think beyond the “airy” and “whimsical” styles that have been so popular lately.
“We thought an almost grungy style take to a modern-day wedding would be quite different, and would show the absolute versatility of the beautiful ombré carnations we used,” Grace says.
