When it came time to knuckle down and plan their classic whimsical wedding, Chez and James agreed they wanted a unique wedding that wasn’t just a cut-and-paste from Pinterest.
“We established a budget first – James made a brilliant spreadsheet – and decided the non-negotiables. Everything else kind of slotted into place,” says the bride.
On August 24, 2018 the couple, aged 27 and 30, wed at Hampton Court House: a Georgian mansion set within nine acres of 18th Century Gardens. The historic, Fairy Tale setting was perfect for the whimsical affair, attended by 92 day guests and an extra 42 in the evening.
The day featured native wildlife, gold accents and plenty of lush greenery, complemented by classic flower arrangements made by Vanilla Rose.
Friends pitched in to keep costs to a minimum. Stationery was designed by a bridesmaid, the groom’s dad provided honey from his bees for the wedding favours, and a friend’s cousin played the piano throughout the ceremony.
To add that extra bit of magic, Chez spent hours choosing a Disney character for each and every guest. She also called upon particularly creative guests to design table place settings. It was a Fairy Tale wedding come true.
