Becca and Adam brought their love of rustic charm to a historic Bath venue for their relaxed vintage wedding.
The couple, from Wiltshire, fell in love with the Tythe Barn at Priston Mill because of its gorgeous gardens and beautiful interior.
“We chose October as we both love autumn and love the golden light you get in the evenings at that time of year,” Becca, 29, says.
When it came to their October 6, 2017 relaxed vintage wedding, Becca and Adam, 28, did most of the planning and venue decor themselves, incorporating the things they love for the celebrations with 100 guests.
“We didn’t have a specific theme or colour scheme, we just chose what we liked and it ended up with a relaxed vintage feel,” Becca says.
“The centerpieces were vintage books from charity shops, teacup candles (made by myself and two friends) and recycled jars with a few flowers. Adam made the table numbers with
old vinyl records and we both made the table plan with a piece of MDF, blackboard paint and chalk pens. We both love books and music so it felt like the perfect combination.”
The bride says wedding planning had been a little overwhelming at first, “but once we realised you just have to choose what you want and like it suddenly became quite fun!” she says.
“I still grin to myself when I think about our wedding day, it was even better than we could have ever imagined – we loved every minute.”

“I had my heart set on a flowy, bohemian Kate Moss-style dress but they looked awful on me,” Becca says. The team at Krystle Brides came to the rescue, picking out a style the bride never thought she would choose. “But I was so happy with it,” Becca says. “The lace and embellished neck detail was so beautiful.” Her “something blue” were a beautiful pair of Rachel Simpson heels she spotted very early in the wedding planning.
When it came to flowers, the bride kept to classic white. “Gypsophilia lined the aisle and made up the bridemaids’ bouquets, which looked lovely in the rustic barn,” Becca says.
Becca and Adam met when they were both working as radiographers at the Bath hospital. “He claims he used to make excuses to chat to me in work but it wasn’t until we started chatting properly at a New Year’s party we that bonded over him making fun of my slightly sticky out ears and Mighty Boosh quotes,” Becca recalls.
After about three years together, Adam popped the question at Bath’s iconic Royal Crescent. “We often used to sit on the grass at the crescent in the summer when we lived in a flat nearby and had so many lovely memories there,” Becca says.
“I know everyone says it, but it really was the best day ever,” Becca says. “Our faces hurt from smiling so much at our wedding, we were so pleased to be surrounded by all our favourite people in the most beautiful location on such a sunny day.”
