A special place in the hearts of Amy Twigger and James Hamshar set the scene for their decision to spend the rest of their lives together.
“From an early stage in our relationship, I introduced James to Cornwall,” explains Amy, 29. “Ever since, we have enjoyed some amazing weekends down there escaping the hustle and bustle of the daily grind.” On one particular visit James, 32, organised a meal by the Camel Estuary and as they were walking along the beach, he set down on one knee. “Not a soul around and just each other to enjoy such a special moment …it was just so relaxed and so perfect,” smiles Amy.
The pair chose a vintage wedding theme and set the date for August 9, 2015. Amy says she wanted to capture the special feeling of her engagement by making the day informal and relaxed. “We had the most amazing day and feel so lucky that we got to hold a massive party to celebrate how much we love each other,” she smiles.
The couple married at Gate Street Barn in Bramley and celebrated at their reception with 90 guests at the same venue. The bride decorated it herself, collecting random bits over many months from antique fairs and vintage shops.
