Most couples spent inordinate time, money and effort choosing the perfect outfit for their big day but not New Zealand couple Nick and Wendy Lowe who last week married, well, in the buff.
Yep, the couple, kicked off the new year by marrying at the Wellington Naturist Club – and they did so absolutely starkers.
Though some guests refused to attend, about half of the 120 or so who did were equally game, turning up at the “clothing optional” wedding ceremony and reception in their birthday suits.
Nick, who says being a ‘naturist’ is one of the most significant parts of his life, introduced Wendy to his lifestyle about six years ago and, though she was nervous at first, she took to it “like a duck to water,” he says.
“It was one of the first things he said to me: ‘I’m a naturist, how do you feel about it?” Wendy told Stuff.co.nz. “I knew at some point I’d have to at least try it.”
And try it she did.
