A towering column walkway leading up to The Happenstance complements the surrounding London architecture. I liaised with the Events Manager, Ruaidhri throughout organising our wedding lunch in July. He was absolutely brilliant and a joy to work with. Nothing was too much trouble and everything ran very smoothly. We had lunch for 45 people and everyone said the food was excellent. The tables were laid out as I wanted and the team were brilliant. In fact we were that happy we had breakfast for around 16 the next morning. Ruaidhri thank you!

Great private dining room area. It's not only spacious to easily accommodate about 30-40 people but carries a sense of warmth that is both modern and yet homely. I not only had a wonderful evening, plus the great service we received. Very much thankful for the staff for looking after us from the booking all the way through to the late night dinner.

We had an amazing day at the Happenstance, and would thoroughly recommend as a wedding reception venue. The food and wine was excellent (and really good value) and the service was outstanding. All the staff were personable, friendly and couldn't do enough to look after us. Will helped us plan our day long in advance and had loads of ideas, suggestions and contacts to help us make the day exactly as we wanted. On the day, Will and all the team at the Happenstance looked after us brilliantly and adapted to every last minute request. They made us feel relaxed and like part of The Team Butterfly family. We cannot recommend The Happenstance highly enough to any couple looking for a London reception venue. Thank you!!

From start to finish the experience with the Happenstance was great. Everything ran like clockwork, exactly how we'd planned and imagined it. The food was great the drinks were delicious and served imaginatively in interesting and good-quality glassware. The staff were excellent too!

We had our wedding at The Happenstance in October 2016. We chose this venue over others as, from the moment we met Will and Rhiannon, it quickly became clear that they were the people we wanted to manage our big day. We had numerous meetings with the team who were always professional and diligent, their attention to detail meant that we didn’t have to worry about anything on the day. From the moment we arrived at the reception we couldn’t have been looked after better, friends and family were all extremely impressed with how attentive and welcoming the staff were. The venue is in a perfect location, with St Paul’s in the backdrop and in the heart of the city. But, it was the hard work, thoughtfulness and friendliness of Edgar/Damian and their team who worked on the day that it made it even more special. We know they do a number of weddings at the venue but, despite this, it felt like the venue was completely transformed to suit us for the day and that’s not an easy feat to achieve in central London! I work near The Happenstance and whenever I walk by I always smile at the memories they created for us. Thank you again! Leon and Victoria xxx

The Happenstance hosted our wedding reception at the end of August and we had an absolute ball! Everything went smoothly from the very first time we met with Will and Rhiannon (who coordinated our day) and we couldn't have been more pleased with our celebration. The food is of an excellent quality - felt like home-cooking for a group of around 125 adults and children which cannot be easy to achieve - nor flexing so effortlessly to suit our slightly slipping timings for food! The venue itself is fantastic - contemporary and eclectic with beautiful chairs and interior design. We really felt in safe hands and all of our requests, no matter how large or small were attended to including dietary requirements, late licences, big decorations, cake co-ordination, lighting orchestration... the list goes on. Big thanks to The Happenstance.

We were in a lovely private room on the side of the restaurant for a wedding reception. Plenty of seating, lovely candles and a bar. The ladies toilets had gorgeous scented candles in them and a jar of sweets! It's a shame the weather was so awful that day, otherwise we could have spilled out onto Paternoster square and enjoyed the October sunshine. Instead we enjoyed the lovely room, with its fur throws on some of the seats and its cosy ambience. Great place for a private celebration.

I used the beautiful private room for an intimate wedding party and cannot fault the service offered by Will and his team at The Happenstance. We had a drinks reception on arrival with delicious and very pretty cocktails. The three course dinner was fresh, hot and tasty. Everyone raved about it. The room itself was dressed elegantly and had an enchanting feel about it. The service given by the staff was first class from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they really worked hard to make us feel special. We were able to have the room until closing time for those who fancied a dance after dinner. It was an afternoon and night to remember! I can't wait to visit The Happenstance again, it really is a very lovely place.

Great bar with wonderful staff. We had our own room with food and drink set out and attentive staff that came through regularly to tidy up and take drinks orders from those of us that wanted drinks other than the pre-ordered ones. The venue is lovely and in a wonderful spot. The food was really nice and the service was great. Would definitely visit again.

We held our wedding reception at The Happenstance on 25th April 2015. The entire process from start to finish was an absolute pleasure. Will was delightful to work with and ensured that everything progressed smoothly and stress free. The staff handled the entire set up of the day and did a fantastic job; the venue looked beautiful and just as we'd envisaged. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day and that is definitely down to The Happenstance as a venue, Will as our wedding planner and the Happenstance staff on the day. All of our guests have commented on how amazing the day was and how great the venue was, staff included. If we could do it all again (and we'd love to!), we wouldn't change a thing.

We had our wedding party in the private dining room at the Happenstance and would highly recommend it. They have an experienced events planner who gave us good advice on food and drink, and on the day itself the room was decorated very creatively by the team. We had dedicated waiters who worked exceptionally hard all evening. All of this made things easier for us - more time for us to enjoy with our guests, and less time worrying about the arrangements.

The attention to detail in every aspect was obvious with unique touches relevant to the special occasion everywhere. Even the DJ went above and beyond. We celebrated our wedding day at The Happenstance with a group of around 125 adults and children and from start to finish we knew we were in safe hands! It was a fantastic celebration with excellent food, well served, in a fantastic setting. We would strongly recommend The Happenstance as a stunning central London venue (right next to St Pauls!) and we are hugely grateful to them for their attention to detail. Will and Rhiannon who orchestrated our event are hugely experienced and well-organised and we quickly felt at home with them. Menu tastings were very enjoyable (!) and even with our stream of elaborate decorations being delivered at the last minute - no requests were too much for them. Arrangements for DJ's, lighting, bands, late licences and cakes all perfectly co-ordinated without any fuss. Huge thanks to everyone at The Happenstance for making our day so special!
