Captivating guests on arrival with its dreamy fairy tale facade, Strawberry Hill House is a wedding venue that is located in the leafy outskirts of London. The venue is renowned for its high quality of service, premium catering and various bewitching function rooms. Surrounded by 5 acres of beautifully manicured gardens, renaissance glass, vaulted and gilded ceilings, the venue exudes an atmosphere that is magnificent and enigmatic. It is therefore no surprise the pulchritudinous venue was recently awarded “London Romantic Wedding of the Year” and highly in demand.

Strawberry Hill House’s story begins in 1747, when Horcace Walpole discovered and purchased ‘Chopp’d Straw Hall’, one of the last remaining sites available on the banks of the Thames in voguish Twickenham. He set about transforming what was then a couple of cottages into his vision of a ‘little Gothic castle’ with pinnacles, battlements and a round tower - thus Strawberry Hill House was born. It was within the walls of Strawberry Hill House, Horace Walpole was inspired to what is widely regarded as the first ever Gothic novel. The building and Grade II five-acre garden has been restored, to the cost of ?10 million, to its original appearance using Eighteenth Century maps, paintings and Walpole’s own writing. It has since hosted a number of fabulous weddings.

Various rooms, along with the Cafe and lawns, are offered for a truly unique and memorable wedding, both of grand scale and a smaller more intimate party; The Gallery, Library, Great Parlour, Round Drawing Room and Great North Bedchamber.

The Gallery is a spacious and naturally lit room, an opulent setting featuring high vaulted ceilings, golden canopies and crimson damask, accommodating up to 100 seated dinner. The intimate Round Drawing Room, accommodating up to 40, features stunning painted glass and a gold frieze on the ceiling inspired by St. Paul’s cathedral. The expansive gardens “an open grove through which you see a field which is bounded by Serpentine wood of all kind of trees and flowering shrubs and flowers”, offer ample opportunities to capture photographs and moments to remember. Following your ceremony, enjoy a drinks reception on the lawn or in the Great Parlour, overlooking the garden. Continue to enjoy the House for drinks, dancing and merriment throughout the night.

What a stunning venue to get married in. I felt like a princess. The service from start to finish was impeccable. Val, our wedding planner went out of her way to listen to what we wanted and to make our day special. The new cafe owners were wonderful. I cannot recommend it enough.
