Though Robin and his love are said to have plighted their troth "beneath the greenwood tree", as yet it is not possible for couples to have a civil wedding ceremony in the open air. However, we can offer the next best thing - your civil wedding or partnership ceremony in the Oak Room at Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, followed by a relaxed and enjoyable wedding reception in the nearby Forest Table Restaurant.

The Visitor Centre is located in north Nottinghamshire, set within the oak and birch woodlands of famous Sherwood Forest and only a short walk from the magnificent Major Oak.

Within the ancient forest are many lovely woodland locations for wedding photographs. The world famous forest offers a different and memorable venue for your special day.

If you want to break free from stuffy formality and "do something different", Sherwood Forest is the ideal location.

Our reception menus are very varied and include everything from barbecues and a hog roast to classic canapes and evening buffets.

We can even provide a medieval feast - you can encourage your guests to get in the mood by dressing in medieval costume and live the Robin Hood legend for a day!
