I remember driving past this hotel and saying to my now husband "that is a lovely looking hotel - I wonder if they do wedding receptions". Well I found out they did and they catered for the type of wedding reception we wanted. We had a lunch/afternoon reception with three course meals. The garden was lovely and fortunately we were blessed with sunny weather which meant that we could get the photos taken in the garden and everyone could chat outside. The garden was in flower and vibrant with colours.The conservatory is a blank canvas (white) which was perfect for building upon with your own colours and theme. The staff really listened to how I wanted the table set up and did a great job. Communication was great and feel that the owner (Gill) was organised. Everyone said they enjoyed it and I cannot think of another place where I would have had my reception.

We had our wedding reception here and it was absolutely fantastic, Gill and Martin could not do enough for us, the sun shone all day which was perfect for showing off the stunning gardens, it really is a beautiful place for a intimate family wedding, or just a holiday. We had one night here wish it could have been more to experience more of the lovely breakfast.

We recently had our wedding reception here and our 100 guests that shared our day with us thoroughly enjoyed the food, drinks service and accommodation. The owners Gill and Martin couldn't have been more helpful and flexible in meeting our needs and budget for our reception. We couldn't fault the hospitality shown to us and our guests throughout the day! The food served was delicious and enjoyed by all with fantastic service. Accommodation was to a very high standard and we all found it to be very comfortable and quiet! We will definitely be regular visitors in the future for evening meals and highly recommend the Polraen as a lovely family run hotel in a beautiful setting with fantastic food and accommodation and very family friendly! Thank you for a lovely day!
