Prestwold Hall is still a privately-owned house lived in by a descendant of Sir Christopher Packe and is not open to the general public. The house contains many interesting features including a considerable amount of marbled Italian plaster work, some fine 18th century English and European furniture and a large collection of family portraits from Sir Christopher Packe to the present day.

This magnificent house was largely remodelled in 1843 by William Burn and has been the home of the Packe family for 350 years. The first Packe to occupy the Hall was Sir Christopher Packe, later a Cromwellian peer and one of the city men behind Oliver Cromwell, who in many ways were responsible for the efficient functioning of the Commonwealth Government. Knighted at the time of his Mayoralty of London, Christopher Packe was foremost in pressing the ‘petition and advice’ desiring the Protector to assume the title of the King.

Located in the heart of the Midlands with easy access by road and rail, Prestwold Hall is the ancestral home of the Packe-Drury–Lowe family, who are delighted to share their home for a wide variety of events, managed and catered for by Maverick Venues, the elite hospitality company.

The Hall and Estate provide the perfect venue for conferences, meetings, dinners, weddings and activity days, and are also stunning backdrops for films, television and photo shoots.

We have a whole range of activities available from archery to human table football. Helicopter landing sites are also available.

October 2015

Prestwold Hall was the perfect location for our wedding. This stately home has so much character and the gardens are absolutely stunning! There's also an area with slides for the children!! What I loved about Prestwold, was the fact that there were separate rooms (for the civil ceremony, for the meal, for the bar…) it meant even if the weather is not great, people can wander around and not feel like they are stuck in one room for the day! The staff were so lovely and professional! They made our day completely stress free (Thank you Stacey Ferguson!) The food was delicious and very good value for money! Overall, Prestwold hall ticked all the boxes as for our perfect wedding
