Firle Place

The family is descended from a Norman Baron who arrived in 1066 and came to prominence under Sir John Gage (1479-1556), who was variously Governor of Calais, Vice-Chamberlain to King Henry VIII, Knight of the Garter and Constable of the Tower of London, where he was charged with the imprisonment of Elizabeth.

Firle Place is the perfect setting for any wedding reception. We can accommodate a wide variety of wedding requirements and have a range of options available for parties of any size.

Firle village is home to the beautiful 13th century St. Peter’s Church. To discuss the possibility of getting married at the church, please contact Reverend Peter Owen Jones.

We have two options available to you for your wedding reception. Other bespoke options may be available, which are best discussed in person. We can recommend local wedding suppliers, including caterers and marquee hire companies. There are also a number of B&B options on the Estate for friends and family.

Enjoy your special day in a luxury marquee, set in the extensive and beautifully maintained grounds and parkland with the stately home of Firle Place as a stunning backdrop.

The Georgian Riding School is a Grade 2* listed building located in the private grounds of Firle Place, which can comfortably seat up to 300 guests, with the average wedding party between 120-150 guests, but can be partitioned for smaller parties. There is a pretty landscaped area outside for drinks, and guests can also use the croquet lawn.
