With features and quirks unlike many modern London hotels, South Place Hotel in Finsbury entices a vibrant and trendy clientele. With 80 bedrooms and two floors of event spaces, this central London hotel has thoughtfully curated its interiors around their ideal couple.

The party starts in the lift where music plays a few decibels louder than the rest of the hotel. On the 5th floor and the first event level, three spaces can be used for your wedding day. There is one room, Steed, that is licensed for wedding ceremonies. Its neutral palette, with wooden floors and soft natural lighting opens this room up to an endless stream of possibilities.

South Place Hotel’s best kept secret is its open-air Secret Garden. The garden is a photogenic choice with a permanent hanging floral installation that covers the entire area. Although the Secret Garden is fully enclosed by sleek slate walls and has a retractable roof, the abundance of lush plants and modern outdoor furniture makes one feel as though they are in a private interior garden. It’s a divine setting in South Place Hotel to host a cocktail reception after your wedding ceremony.

Return to Steed to host your wedding breakfast and after, your nearest and dearest can join you for a nightcap in Le Chiffre. Essentially, this is a cosy lounge equipped with a private bar, cushy mauve seating, copper side tables and a grand pool table, perfect for late night drinks and entertainment.

Alternatively, the Angler and Terrace on the top floor can host your wedding day from ceremony to dinner for 80 guests. The Angler is spectacularly bright, with floor to ceiling angled windows and neutral walls. The restaurant area flows effortlessly onto the rooftop terrace and guests can move freely between the restaurant, terrace and the glamorous Angler bar tucked around the corner. The terrace features an elegant seasonal flower installation and comfy white wicker furniture for guests to soak up the late afternoon sunshine.

We love the hotel so much that we decided to get married there. The ceremony took place on the top floor. The room was very bright and had a lovely covered outdoor terrace. The staff made our guests feel comfortable and the ceremony uncomplicated. We stayed in the beautiful 610 suite for the night. It was a magical moment. The next morning, we met up for a lovely breakfast in the ground restaurant with our guests. The a la carte choice was enourmous and every dish was very tasty. The service was spot on, friendly but still elegant. Matteo, the manager, greated all of our guests in a lovely manner. Thank you for making our stay so special:)

Throughout the booking process Rosie was on hand for all of our queries and extremely helpful to make sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed breakfast in the garden room, which had the most beautiful floral display - creating the perfect 'wow' factor on guest arrival. Celia was our main point of contact on the day and she was extremely helpful, with nothing being too much trouble. This is one of our favourite venues and comes with a high recommendation from us.

Excellent wedding. Everything was excellent, the organization by Amy, the atmosphere, the food and the staff, we had a wonderful time. We stayed in the hotel for two nights and were very pleased with the room, a lovely big tv, tea and coffee remote controlled blinds and a lovely big bath tub, the bed was a bit soft for my liking. We were disappointed that the breakfast wasn't the usual buffet and we had to order off a menu, we had the full English breakfast which was excellent. It was very easy to find from the Moorgate tube station.

Cannot thank South Place Hotel and the events team enough for helping to make my wedding the most perfect day ever. The venue is so elegant and modern and Amy and her events team really helped to personalise the already beautiful surroundings to our own personal needs/tastes. The planning stages of the weeding were so effortless and seamless with the help of Amy the events manager and the professionalism and friendliness of all the staff on the day was outstanding. The food was out of this world and the personalised mocktails were the best. The whole experience was just amazing and I would recommend this venue to anyone in a second. Very intimate setting. Our room was amazing and the bathroom was just luxurious. The hotel was exactly what we wanted and more. It is very conveniently located within a short walking distance from Moorgate and Liverpool train stations which was ideal. The staff were very friendly and go above and beyond ones expectations. The hotel is very much a boutique hotel with very intimate settings and we felt at home and at ease. With larger hotel chains, albeit service may be just as good, guests don’t often feel as if they are the focal point - South Place manages to do that!

We got married at the South Place hotel and it was absolutely fantastic. We had the ceremony in Purdey & Steed, the drinks reception in the Secret Garden and our wedding breakfast in the Angler restaurant. The food was outstanding, we had crab and scallop ravioli bisque for starters, beef on the bone and beef fillet for mains and a selection of desserts to finish off. The wines were carefully paired with the food and every detail was taken into consideration. Our guests all commented how tasty the food was and how attentive the service was in the restaurant. It's definitely worth the Michelin star. The rooms were beautifully decorated and we stayed in suite 610 which is hands down the best hotel room we've ever stayed at. My bridesmaids and I even hit the gym up the night before to burn some energy before the big day!! The best bit was the careful attention from the Events Manager, Amy Frank who made the day, and 15 month lead up very special for us both. Amy put all of her effort into making sure the day was as stress-free and perfect for us and we couldn't recommend getting married here enough. We look forward to returning back to the hotel for our anniversary celebration!!!

We got married here on 6 October and had the best day of our lives! From the moment we looked around we new we wanted to get married here. The food is some of my favourite (I go to the bottomless brunch in the chop house a bit too much!) From breakfast to dinner in the Michelin star Angler at the top. The staff are incredible and cannot do enough for you, especially the amazing events manager Amy Frank who is like a mind-reader, she made everything easy and fun even saving the day a few times with the printer when I lost our table names! The bedrooms themselves are incredible ( we stayed in a suite and it's by far the best room I've ever stayed in) and one of our guests said they had the comfiest bed they'd ever stayed in. All our guests have said what a great time they had and we couldn't have dreamed of a better day! Thank you all so much XX

This 80 bedroom hotel is located just around the corner from Moorgate tube station and a short walk from the Barbican and Shoreditch. From the outside it looks like an office block but on entering you can see the quirkiness which makes it a little different than a larger corporate hotel. The food was good and the service friendly and attentive.

My wife and I recently hosted our wedding at the South Place and we are so happy we did. From the very beginning, Amy from their events department was delightful to work with, super professional and full of great ideas for making the most of the space - thank you so much for everything, Amy! The venue itself was perfect for our group of 90 people. All of the function rooms are conveniently located on one floor and all have their own distinct personalities. They even came decorated for the holidays so we didn't end up having to plan much decoration ourselves. The Secret Garden was particularly fun, as it had a light-up moon hanging down and they even opened the ceiling to let in fake snow from up above - a truly special moment. Le Chiffre was a fun room for dancing as well and was decorated as a black and gold disco, complete with disco ball. And the staff was super professional throughout and the food was delicious. In other words, everything went off without a hitch and I would highly recommend the venue for weddings! I also want to call out the hotel as well - many of our guests commented on how classy the hotel is, how quirky and fun and comfortable it was, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. They upgraded us for our wedding to a suite, which was huge and luxurious, and all of the rooms had comfortable beds, blackout curtains, and fun art on the walls. Plus, the staff was friendly and accommodating at every turn and the hotel itself is located close to a number of fun neighborhoods, including Shoreditch. All in all an awesome experience and we hope to be back soon!

This is a little gem at the very heart of the City. Super-conveniently located - just a few minutes walk from Liverpool Street station - but at a side street, away from the main car traffic and street noise. The moment you walk in, you feel the place is really special - the sensual spicy scent, the fireplace, the bar getting lively on a Sunday evening - it's very atmospheric. The downstairs restaurant and bar are lovely, elegant but unpretentious. Last but not least - the staff are very polite and helpful.

We recently got married at the South Place Hotel in London and what an amazing day. We can't thank them enough for working so hard, ensuring it was a day to remember for the rest of our lives. We were lucky to have the ceremony in the Angler restaurant. Our guest were able to mingle on the beautiful roof terrace before the ceremony. The reception was held in the Secret Garden Bar and we were extremely lucky that it already had a theme of Provence, the wonderful floating flowers looked amazing. The 3 course meal in the Angler restaurant was incredible as expected for a Michelin star restaurant. The staff were excellent and we couldn't have asked for better. It was a military service with nothing missed. We also had quite a few dietary requirements and the vegan dishes were stunning. Our wedding cake was made by Nelson and his team (recently on Professional Masterchef) and it truly was stunning. Once the meal was finished the restaurant was quickly turned around for a night of dancing. It was set up like a small nightclub which was great as the dance floor was always full of people dancing. We stayed in the East Wing Suite on the 6th floor. It is an incredible suite and perfect for all our needs. On our wedding night they decorated our bedroom and bathroom with beautiful rose petals everywhere. We will definitely be booking it again! It was our perfect day and I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about having their wedding at the South Place Hotel.

Simply outstanding, all I can say is wow. We had the best time from start to finish, the hotel and venue is amazing. Great atmosphere and even a cheeky game of pool, waiting and bar staff where top quality, really at the top there game and superbly organised and professional. Party planner was fantastic too.

We got married in May 2019 at the stunning South Place Hotel and it really was the most amazing day of our lives. The hard work and effort started long before the day itself with the wonderful Amy Frank (creative stylist and social events manager) helping to organise a truly unforgettable day. Amy is everything you could ever want from a wedding planner, she has an incredible eye for detail and makes sure everything is exactly as you imagined. Amy also offers wonderful advice and tips in the lead up to the wedding and she is so warm and genuinely caring she puts you at ease right away and you can tell from her passion and enthusiasm that this is more than just a job to her. Amy goes out of her way to make sure her clients have the vision of their wedding realised and she takes time and effort to get to know you, so that she truly understands what you want from the day. We had a few personal photographs of relatives that we wanted to be a part of the day but were unable to attend and Amy made sure they were moved carefully throughout the day so they were always somewhere in the room with us. We appreciated that so much! Thats only one example of many, that highlight how thoughtful Amy is and how carefully she listens to how important certain aspects of the day are to you. On the day, the team at South Place were incredible, from the very start to the end of our day we did not worry about a single thing, as we knew the team had it covered. The transition from each section of the wedding: welcoming guests, the ceremony, dinner and then the evening party was just seamless. At one point in the day I was feeling unwell and Alex and Amy did absolutely everything within their power to make sure I was ok, including getting me something from the kitchen that was not on our wedding menu, just to ensure I was feeling better. We found South place hotel extremely well appointed. But the real selling point of this hotel are the wonderful staff. Everyone we encountered were happy , warm and welcoming-a real rarity these days. Nothing too much trouble. Only 10 minutes walking from Liverpool Street makes it super convenient too.

My new husband (yay!) and I held our wedding at the South Place Hotel on Saturday, and we really can't rate the hotel and staff high enough!! It was AMAZING!! From start to finish our wedding coordinator and hotel stylist, Amy Frank, was fantastic, making sure that every part of the day was thought out, planned and managed. Along with Alex from the events management team, they completely took the pressure off us on the day by ensuring that everything ran smoothly. The ceremony, and lunch for 36 people, were both held in Purdy & Steed, and whilst the room was turned around we had drinks and canapes in the stunningly beautiful Secret Garden Bar. The food was absolutely delicious, which a lot of the guests complimented us on. For our evening guests we had welcome drinks once again in the Secret Garden Bar, and the reception was held in Le Chiffre and Solo. With the wide corridor and the use of Peel for our photobooth, we had a good bit of room for our 90 + guests to party until 1am! We booked a studio room, room 604, for our wedding night. It's beautiful room with a bath and open shower in the room itself. The bed was decorated with roses and we were given a bottle of champagne on ice, compliments of South Place. It was really the most perfect day, and the most perfect venue! Thank you to the whole team at South Place Hotel for truly giving us a day to remember.

The front of house staff are attentive and professional, making us feel welcome right from the moment we arrived. It is five star luxury without the snobbery associated with that level, and is modern yet not cold and sterile, as some modern hotels can be. Great service, wonderful staff!
