Chiddingstone Castle

With the Castle and grounds closed to the public for weddings, we are able to offer exclusive use throughout the day. We have three separate areas licensed for the ceremony. During summer months most couples opt for a ceremony at the Orangery in the grounds, followed by drinks on the formal raised lawn, before coming inside to the Great Hall and the drawing room for the wedding breakfast and evening reception.

During the winter months, or in wet weather, the ceremony is by no means compromised by coming inside to the majestic Great Hall, a grand, formal room of Tudor heritage reflected in its oak panelling. The bridal couple sign the register at our 17th Century oak refectory table beneath the stained glass window. An aisle is created from the Print Room behind and, following the ceremony, drinks and canap�s can be served in the White Rose Drawing Room adjacent, a light and elegant room with breathtaking views of the Weald and walls hung with paintings of the Stuart monarchs.

We are able to accommodate a range of guest numbers, from smaller parties under 50 up to 80 for a wedding breakfast in the Great Hall, followed by an evening reception of up to 120. We regularly erect our marquee in the grounds which gives you freedom to invite up to 120 guests for the full day from ceremony through to evening reception.
