The Bentley Hotel in Kensington sits quietly on Harrington Gardens, a leafy London street located 3 minutes away from Gloucester Road tube station. Stepping off the spotless sidewalk, through a pair of heavy gold doors and into The Bentley Hotel’s lobby, one is simultaneously delighted and soothed by the 5-star hotel’s luxury surroundings.

Creamy ornate ceilings, marble columns and gleaming floors lead you into the mezzanine lobby where classical music tinkles softly in the background. While the gallant doormen retrieve your luggage, sink into the oriental antique chairs and enjoy the tropical palm plants dotted around the lounge. In the centre of the lobby, a beautiful spiralling staircase leads up to The Alexander Room.

The suite, named after the original owners of Harrington Gardens and their estate, is tastefully decorated in pale shades of green and brightened by natural light filtering in through white drapes along one side of the room.Most couples select The Alexander Room for their wedding ceremony due to its light, neutral palette. The blue hued Daniel Room is a few paces up the hallway and is an ideal space for last minute touch ups before making your way down the aisle.

For drinks, dining and dancing, The Bentley Hotel has two lavish event spaces to move between. Both are located on the basement level, accessible via two glossy lifts or the central staircase. Elaborate fringed drapes line the entrance to each space allowing for dramatic couple entrances.

The 1880 Room, named after the date of the building’s establishment, has intricately detailed ceilings from which twinkling crystal chandeliers hang. Golden yellow Damask walls are segmented by striking black marble columns and the large ornate mirrors reflect glittering light back at the chandeliers. It’s an opulent room in which to host your wedding ceremony, dinner or reception.

Opposite the 1880 Room and though another set of luxurious drapes, the crimson Malachite Room contrasts its neighbour entirely. Cushy scarlet booths fit snugly into alcoves and exotic tigers pose in paintings on the deep burgundy walls. With a curved ceiling that arcs in each corner, the Malachite Room takes on a sultry night club vibe for drinks and music that can continue late into the night.
