We hired the Birdcage bar in the basement. The venue looked great, it was a perfect size for our numbers (45), the cocktails were lovely and the staff were really helpful. Special thanks to Nadia who helped organise our event.

The venue was perfect size for the 30-35 guests. The venue looks great and is kitted with a great sound system, which they had no objections to me playing my own music at a loud volume. The minimum spend is very reasonable for London. I would book again without hesitation. Thanks to the Bird of Smithfield for facilitating an awesome night.

Perfection. Nadia could not have been lovelier or more helpful! From correspondence to accommodating our requests to looking after us on the night, she was a real pleasure to interact with. The food and service were both fantastic! As I'm a veggie, I had the risotto. Normally I don't eat risotto as I'm not a fan of rice - but this was some sort of euphoric palette experience that stunned me! Everyone I spoke with really enjoyed the meal and the service was prompt, organised, friendly and non-intrusive. We finished the day by having a party downstairs - the staff in the basement were also great! The cheese boards that appeared were sublime and I was only gutted to discover the next day that no-one in our party had taken away the unfinished cheese! We had such a fantastic experience here that I would unreservedly recommend this restaurant/venue to anyone thinking about having a meal or an event!

From the moment we met Nadia we knew we wanted Bird of Smithfield for our wedding reception and we weren't disappointed. We got married at Islington Town Hall and travelled to Bird in a vintage London bus. We were greeted at Bird with champagne and canapés and guests were free to mingle between the ground floor bar and the sunny roof terrace (thanks to the retractable roof we could even use the roof terrace during the summer showers). We then moved into the dining room for a delicious four course meal, we were a group of 56 so used the larger dining room, the room looked fantastic with lots of small touches added by Bird to make it extra special. Everyone commented on the great food, wine and service. After dinner guests mingled between the dining room, roof terrace and ground floor bar for more champagne and cocktails. By 6pm we were ready to greet our evening guests and get the party started. In the Birdcage we had a Dj, with a saxophonist and added bongos for a real club feel to re-live our 20's! We had our first dance in the Birdcage, it's an amazing space for partying and the late licence option is such a bonus. All the staff at Bird were so friendly and fun and really helped to make the whole day extra special, we could not have asked for anything more. We are already looking for an excuse to host another event at Bird - maybe a 1st anniversary party!

I am glad I organised our event at this particular venue. If you want an intimate and exciting venue where ALL the staff are super friendly, very professional, attentive, fun and just generally all round 'caring' about your event, then this is the place. I spent good money here and really felt like I got great value. The guests were so impressed, I'm looking for any excuse to re-book and do another event soon. Aside from the excellent restaurant, bars and various facilities available, this is an extremely well run operation.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. We had a small wedding (40 people) and they were so unbelievably professional, kind and accommodating. Nadia was great in handling everything leading up until the day and the staff on the evening absolutely nailed everything. The food was fantastic. The setting was perfect. The atmosphere was better than expectations. All in all it was a perfect day. No stress. No hassles. No worries. After the dinner, the two gentleman in the bar downstairs (The Bird Cage) were superstars. They made us feel welcome and joined in as if they were part of the fun- which was fantastic. If you are having a small wedding (which I recommend to anyone who gets married) do think of hosting it here. You won't be disappointed. It's 5 out of 5. There's even a rooftop where you can get great photos of the city and get some quiet time if needed.

I'm so glad we booked this venue!! The atmosphere was lively and fun, the portions of food were generous but also delicious and special, and the staff were amazing. The staff were the ones who really made the night, as they pulled out all the stops to ensure we had a great evening. Thank you very much :)

Had a small wedding reception here three weeks ago. Where do I start! We had the bar downstairs for drinks before and after our meal and the room upstairs for the meal. The food was cooked to perfection and I feel a lot of effort was put into making sure every single one of us had everything we needed and we're happy with our meals. I had ham hock meatloaf for starter which was beautiful and sea bass which was so tasty. The staff were so helpful and attentive.

My wife and I decided on using BoS as the reception venue for our wedding and it was absolutely perfect. We had access to the whole building privately with a bar on every floor to keep our guests happy. The food was amazing, both the canapés and three course menu. The cocktail menu at BoS is really great and we were even able to have our own unique cocktails as part of our event, which were awesome. The staff for both the preparation and on the day were friendly and helpful. We couldn't recommend this venue any more, looking forward to celebrating some anniversaries at BoS.
