Deans Place Hotel is a 4-star country house hotel surrounded by four acres of beautiful gardens. Nestled on the banks of the River Cuckmere in the South Downs National Park, our idyllic location offers the most picturesque backdrop for your wedding.
Sitting on the edge of Alfriston, one of England’s prettiest villages, Deans Place was established over 100 years ago. Originally a vast farming estate dating back to the 14th Century, Deans Place became a privately owned hotel at the beginning of the 20th Century.

Deans Place is set in four acres of beautiful gardens, with glorious views of the South Downs, backing onto the River Cuckmere. Our exclusive packages give you and your guests the whole hotel, grounds and all 32 bedrooms for your wedding day and includes a professional toastmaster.
Licensed for ceremonies both indoors and outdoors you can exchange your vows in the Wedding Garden under the gazebo, or in one of our two beautiful function suites that enjoy views of the surrounding landscape.
Whilst guests enjoy drinks on the lawn in the summer or by the roaring fireplaces in the winter, there are endless photo opportunities within our grounds and nearby, including striking cliffs, picturesque Alfriston Village, along the River Cuckmere or on the rolling South Downs.
From a traditional wedding breakfast to a bespoke theme, we can bring your dream to life!
Our largest room, The Alfriston Suite offers magnificent views of the South Downs and surrounding landscape and can accommodate up to 110 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 200 guests for your evening reception.

We only hold one wedding a day so we can ensure yours is the perfect day!
When booking Exclusive Use of Deans Place Hotel, you have the whole hotel to your wedding guests from 12noon on the day of your wedding until 11am the following day which includes, 32 bedrooms, swimming pool, 4 themed gardens, terrace, bar, dining room and 3 private function rooms and parking for up to 90 cars.
You will secure the hotel and all the bedrooms however any bedrooms booked and paid for directly by your guests with Deans Place will be deducted off your final invoice.
Bedroom check-in is available from 3.00pm and check-out time is 11.00am on the day of departure
We have our own 2AA Rosette awarded catering team and we are confident that our experienced chefs will deliver a beautiful menu and work alongside you to develop a memorable meal.
We are pleased to offer a complimentary menu tasting for two people within our wedding packages, to ensure your wedding breakfast is exactly how you wish.
We have various options for your evening food from mini fish & chips cones or finger buffet to BBQ’s.
