Weddings By Engagement

Weddings by Engagement is owned by Jennifer Ormond. Here’s a little about me, how I came to be involved in weddings and why I’m so passionate about them.

I first became closely involved in the planning and management of weddings during my time as Deputy Restaurant, Conference and Banqueting Manager in a prominent Bournemouth hotel, but my first major career move was to the De Vere Grand Brighton. Initially an Event Manager, the role encompassed everything from small functions to major political conferences and international events. It wasn’t very long, however, before my particular enthusiasm for weddings led to what was then a completely unique position. As a Personal Wedding Planner, I used my knowledge and experience to provide a totally seamless service for anyone who wanted to hold their wedding or civil partnership at the hotel. Working very closely with the couple, their families and with all of the agreed suppliers, I was personally responsible for every aspect, from initial enquiry to final departure.

My time in Australia taught me so much, and I was lucky enough to work alongside some of the country’s top hospitality professionals.
