I launched Ellie Gillard photography in 2011, even in my first year, the weddings I shot were published on blogs and in magazines like Rock n Roll bride. I love telling the story of a wedding day from my own artistic point of view, seeing it, feeling it, being part of it. Capturing all those tiny moments, as well as the big things.
Photographically I love golden hour, window light, dark rooms, unconventional brides and grooms and oodles of love. I love unexpected venues – warehouses, pubs, town halls, galleries and restaurants and outside of London I love outdoor ceremonies in the wilderness, by trees and lakes; in tipis and forests.
I ‘escaped’ from London 3 years ago (having spent 12 years living in East and then latterly South East London) and we found ourselves in Norwich, though I cover weddings worldwide. I’m married to the lovely Joss, and we have three cats, two are rescues and a floppy eared dog from Cyprus called Benson. The latest addition to the family is our baby son Edwin, who joined us in March 2019.
