Beaulea's Cake Studio

I’m Lea, owner of Beaulea’s Cake Studio - the only dedicated wedding cake studio in the Lake District National Park.

When I left my first career in the Royal Navy in 1990 to have my children, I trained in cake baking and decorating at the prestigious Mary Ford school in Poole, Dorset, and have been making celebration cakes ever since.

Several years later I took a year out and travelled around the world with my partner and two children, and the fresh, new celebration cake ideas I found in places like Australia and New Zealand reignited my passion to open a cake studio.

Shortly after settling back in England, in a beautiful corner of the Lake District, Beaulea’s Cake Studio was opened (named after my daughter).

The business has grown and grown and as well as having a great relationship with all the local wedding venues, we now deliver wedding cakes all over the country.

Highlights of the last few years include supplying a three-tier, banana-flavoured birthday cake for hollywood star Renee Zellwegger while she was in town for the filming of ‘Miss Potter’. And also a trip to New York to work with Elisa Strauss, who made Charlotte’s second wedding cake in ‘Sex and the City’.
