The Lancashire Celebrant

Although a Celebrant is not yet able to legally marry anyone at the moment, it is possible to be married by a Celebrant, in a place licensed for weddings and have the Registrar attend (at Cost) to take care of the Legalities.

Most Couples however, choose to have a register office service with just a couple of witnesses ( to take care of the Legalities) and then have a Marriage Ceremony by a Celebrant for All their Family and Friends. This way they can be ‘married’ wherever they choose and have a Ceremony Unique to them.

Many other couples are unconcerned with ‘Legal Marriage’ but wish to Hold a Ceremony purely to show their Commitment to each other. This form of Marriage is as old as time itself, and exists in many forms, for instance the saying “living over the Brush” comes from the ancient Ceremony where the Couple jump over a Broom to signify leaving behind single life and starting life as a ‘married’ couple.

A professional Celebrant, will work very hard with the couple to provide them with a truly unique and memorable Ceremony.

Your Celebrant will visit you and discuss exactly what you require for your Ceremony and advise you about your choices. The Celebrant will then work with the Staff at your choice of venue (if applicable) Write the Ceremony, revise and re-write following consultation with you. Practice the ceremony before the actual day to iron out any wrinkles and finally perform the Ceremony. The Celebrant may also act as the master of ceremonies at the reception should you so wish, (a Fee is involved).
