OVERVIEW

I love my job as a celebrant and I feel privileged to work with people at important times of transition in their lives.

It’s important to me that I feel right to you as your celebrant so here’s a bit about me:

Having first trained as a celebrant with the BHA in 2000, I gave up my job in teaching two years later in order to pursue my new career more fully and I now work full time conducting Humanist funeral, wedding and naming ceremonies. The job fulfils me and I am beginning to see it as my life’s work.

I love my job as a celebrant and I feel privileged to work with people at important times of transition in their lives. Whatever the ceremony, I like to work with those involved to ensure that the form and wording of the ceremony reflects them and meets their needs in a way that makes the occasion more honest, sincere and meaningful. In that way, my work feels creative and exciting.

I see myself as a warm, positive person and I try to live my life ethically and openly. I enjoy running, cycling, walking, singing, knitting and vegetable growing (and eating!) and I am particularly interested in environmental issues, psychology, end-of-life care and health. I am currently studying for an MSc in ‘Death and Society’ at Bath University.
