Many couples who wish to enter into a committed relationship without a religious ceremony feel the Register Office, which strictly controls what can be said and done does not offer enough to mark the occasion.

A Humanist wedding or partnership ceremony offers the freedom to choose your own words, music and readings. Family members, children and friends can be involved to create the right atmosphere and reflect the couple's personalities. The ceremonies I write are for the couple and all about the couple.

Each Humanist wedding or civil partnership ceremony I present is written especially for the couple after discussing with them the kind of ceremony they want. I have presented ceremonies in a variety of places; in hotels, gardens, at home, village halls, on a hilltop etc. It does not have to be a registered venue. The ceremony can be as traditional or as different as you wish, and I can guide you as to what has worked well in the past.

Humanist wedding ceremonies do not form a legal marriage or civil partnership contract. Many couples visit the Register Office a day or two before their Humanist ceremony and most see the Humanist ceremony as the 'real' wedding.

A presentation copy of the script is handed over at the end of the ceremony as a keepsake.
