Usin 1934, the late len beck opened a menswear shop in endyke lane, kingston upon hull . Through his hard work and enthusiasm, the small family business prospered. A clothing manufacturing capacity was developed and "beks" trousers became a nationally-known quality brand Over the years, the original retail premises were modernised and extended. Still on the same site as the original shop, the firm now offers a huge stock of ready to wear mens garments in a large open-plan store in endyke lane hull.

Throughout its history, the company has offered a top-notch made to measure tailoring service to its customers -and now stands as the area's only remaining bespoke tailor. To this day, becks offers a clothing alteration service to the public and the trade - thanks to a dedicated team of skilled workroom staff operating factory- standard equipment. In recent years, the continuing family business has added corporate wear and wedding hire to its specialised portfolio which also embraces hull trinity house school uniforms and merchant navy uniform specialisation. Still operated by descendants of the founder, the business continues to deliver the same high quality, efficient and friendly service that is characteristic of a bygone era.
