Pastel Shades was established over 25 years ago by the highly skilled, internationally experienced dress designer Sue Kimber as a bridal wear and dressmaking service.

In her charming 16th century boutique in the picturesque village of Appledore in South East Kent you will find a fabulous selection of wedding gowns, bridesmaids’ dresses and evening wear.

Sue also creates beautiful outfits for the mother of the bride/groom, ball gowns and prom dresses and, for the gentlemen, the whole look can be coordinated with waistcoats, cravats etc.

We have also introduced an amazing line of wedding dresses by Victoria Kay Gowns.

Pastel Shades is renowned for creating bespoke bridal wear.

From photos, sketches or even video/film clips Sue Kimber can help you create your perfect gown incorporating all the most beautiful aspects from dresses that you have seen, but never found all in one dress.

Choose from beautiful silks or polyesters, plains and prints, sheers and textures, in a huge range of colours. Consultations are entirely free.

Out of hours appointments are available and home visits are possible for any brides with personal mobility difficulties.
