Those summer nights!
Sydney's Karly Gniel, 27, and William Horne, 29, met while working at a summer camp in North Carolina. A naughty night of skinny dipping soon led to a hot romance which saw the pair travel parts of America together soon after. “The first time Will met my parents it was over a Skype call,” laughs Karly.
Not long after they settled back home in Oz. Following another six-month stint overseas, Will proposed. “It was the most amazing finish to what had been an incredible six months away... and I was completely blown away,” explains Karly.
The pair opted for a tropical wedding in Queensland’s Port Douglas with about 100 guests on August 22, 2014. Brides on Collins created Karly’s gorgeous lace gown from two different designs. “I loved the lace on one dress and the style of another and Brides on Collins combined the two to make my beautiful dress,” says the bride.
Karly says her and Will are now ready to write the next chapter of their lives together. “What I love about our relationship is the different obstacles we've overcome and the compromises we've made along the way have only made us stronger,” she says. “We love our story and love to share it - always ready to write the next sequel.”
"I bought each of my bridesmaids a Samantha Wills ring," says Karly.
Of their modern tropical theme, Karly says, "We wanted crisp whites and greens and the star of the day - pineapples!"
Will was dressed in navy by MJ Bale.
Port Douglas Catering & Events provided a mouthwatering menu including Asian inspired canapes and mains banquet, whilst the creative table styling was by The Vintage Hire Company.
