Teachers Amy Rae and Trevor Smith combined their (other) great loves into a picture-perfect vintage wedding.
For geography teacher Trevor, 31, it’s clouds and for science teacher Amy, also 31, it’s stars.
Amy, from Thornton Cleveleys, and Trevor, from Wigan, weaved their skyward theme into their summer wedding celebrations in Lancashire on July 24, 2015. Wedding favours included personalised gingerbread stars and the reception venue was dressed in silver with twinkling fairy lights adorning the ceiling.
The pair wed at the church they both attend regularly – St Mary Magdalen’s, Accrington. “The service was very special to us both,” says Amy. “The school choir sang – beautifully I might add – and we lit a candle in memory of my late father.”
About 100 family and friends attended the nuptials, with 160 taking part in the evening celebrations at Stanley House Hotel. Guests were kept well entertained with a magician, quiz master and live band, Madison.
“Our first dance was to ‘Iris’ by the Goo Goo Dolls,” says Amy. “It was the song that played in Trevor’s car on the way back from the pub on our first date.”

Amy looked stunning in a boat-neck princess cut gown from Lulu Browns.
“The next day, make sure you write down all your favourite things that happened at the wedding,” is Trevor’s advice.
