A frost in the air, warm spiced cider, mince pies and photos by the Christmas tree – these are the ingredients of a wonderful Christmas wedding.
Helen Cahill, 39, had always dreamed of a Christmas wedding and that dream came true when she married Jason Cuthbert, 40, on December 29, 2014.
The couple wed in front of 72 guests at Phyllis Court on the River Thames. “Phyllis Court Club is a private member’s club sitting on the finish line of the world famous Henley Royal Regatta,” explains Helen.
The pair were married underneath the mistletoe on the top deck before braving the cold for group shots with guests. “We stole some moments away together with a cruise up the river in the golden hour before sunset — some treasured time alone during the excitement of the day,” smiles Helen.
At the reception, also at Phyllis Court, the newlyweds paid special tribute to their loved ones. “The wedding cake was displayed with vintage photographs of our grandparents’ and parents’ weddings from the 1930s through to the 1970s,” explains Helen.
“Christmas has always been a special time, but now memories of our special day make it even more magical.”

Helen sourced her elegant strapless Stella York gown from Pure Couture.
“While our guests warmed up with warm spiced cider and mince pies, we made the most of the fading light for photographs,” recalls Helen.
“The evening entertainment opened with the guests wielding sparklers around us,” says Helen.
