A love that’s worth the wait: Rachel and Kit’s vintage wedding

Perseverance paid off for Kit Newton when it came to finding love.

Kit met Rachel Paige, 30, through mutual friends, but for her at least, it wasn’t love at first sight.

“At first I wasn’t interested but he persisted and soon we were together,” mother-of-one Rachel says. “I wouldn’t change him for the world now.”

Kit, 31, proposed on a family holiday to Cornwall and the Beverley, Yorkshire couple began planning their dream vintage wedding.

They chose unique events venue the KP Club in Pocklington to host both their heartfelt ceremony and reception celebrations.

Seventy-seven guests attended the ceremony on September 19, 2015, where Rachel made her way down the aisle to the sounds of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.” More guests joined the evening celebrations, where there was a barbecue dinner, photo booth and plenty of dancing.

“It  was the perfect venue for a wedding,” Rachel says.

Rachel’s daughter looked gorgeous in a flowergirl dress from Debenhams.

Kit and his groomsmen wore slim-fit checkered three-piece suits from Slaters.

“The Aston Martin made Kit’s day as he got to travel in style and it looked amazing for the pictures,” Rachel says.

Rachel said it took a little while to pick the perfect wedding dress before finding the perfect gown for her.

Elegant pink blooms, candles and touches of lace and timber were among the vintage touches.
