Public Service Announcement: Men’s toilets are where future husbands are hiding.
At least that’s where Charlene Evans, 29, met her beau Antony Collins, 32. She threw a drink on a friend in an innocent prank, and consequently had to accompany him to the male bathrooms and help him dry off. “That is where I bumped into my future husband,” laughs Charlene.
The couple were engaged on Christmas Eve in 2013 under the guise of being allowed to “open one present early” and it was then they began planning their elegant wedding for May 26, 2015. “This day was the happiest day of my life,” beams Charlene. They exchanged vows at 2pm at Gosfield Hall in Essex. “After the ceremony we had welcome drinks and the wedding breakfast,” explains the bride. “During the wedding breakfast we had some funny and emotional speeches, including my father getting emotional and excited about welcoming my husband into the family.”
Charlene says she loves Tony’s kindness and sense of humour. “I always know he will be there for me and I will always be there for him, too.” Tony says he admires his wife’s intelligence and her passion to fight for what she believes in. “It really perks up my day when I see her.”

The bride graced a Zac Posen gown from David’s Bridal which featured a sweetheart neckline and mermaid silhouette.
Charlene says the staff at Gosfield Hall were very helpful. “It also has the best bridal suite that I have ever seen, with a whirlpool jacuzzi!”
“She makes me laugh and smile all the time,” Tony says.
Gosfield Hall took care of all of the crimson-themed decorating for the pair’s day.
