Aussie cricket legend Shane Warne has reportedly proposed to his British model/actress girlfriend, Liz Hurley – except the couple in question have denied the rumours.
London’s Daily Star tabloid this week announced that Warnie allegedly popped the big question – after getting down on one knee – in front of friends during a Spanish cruise last week.
“The boat was moored in Marbella and the Packers were on board along with about 15 people, just close friends, no one famous,” an unnamed source told the Star.
“Shane and Liz flew in for a few days and looked so in love during their time. It was just a really beautiful moment when he proposed. Really romantic, and she said yes. There was no hesitation.”
However, according to the Herald Sun, both Hurley and Warnie’s management have vehemently denied the story.
The Melbourne newspaper reports Hurley hit back this morning via Twitter saying: “Why bother actually investigating anything? Just sit at your desk & make up ‘friends’ to say anything that suits your silly stories?'”
“When will talentless journalists stop using unattributed quotes? A lazy & transparently obvious device to avoid actually doing any work.”
Warne has remained silent on his Twitter page, but his manager James Erskine is quoted in the Herald Sun article saying, “The story is complete and utter nonsense. It’s bollocks, there’s no truth in it.”
Damn it, we were so thrilled for the couple! Maybe next week?
