After the viral success of the Lego-themed wedding cake, complete with edible bricks and a Lego bride and groom, a London-based bakery is attracting attention from around the world. Orders are stacking up for Cupcakes by SJ who have said that it’s “not possible to fulfil” the sheer number of requests it is receiving.
Originally posted on the 8th of June on the bakery’s Facebook page, the picture’s caption reads: “My talented father does it once again with a special creation for my cousins wedding, though I did make the edible bricks”.
Since the conspicuous post went live, it has already attracted 146,000+ likes, 73,000 shares and has been commented on over 18,000 times.
After this viral reaction, Supcakes by SJ were forced to respond, saying “As an answer to most people’s questions, I am based in SE London and unable to deliver outside of this area”.
“We are a family who love to bake and create cakes for family, friends and friends of friends.
“We do not have a shop or website or any other form of pictures other than those on this page, which was created at the request of friends purely to see what we’d been creating.
“While all requests are seriously considered, I had no idea one picture would create the reaction and influx that it has in the last 2 days and am sorry that many requests are not possible to fulfill.
“I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for your kind comments, likes and shares it is completely mind blowing and left my parents and I lost for words”.
They’re not the only ones lost for words. This wedding cake is awesome!
