Lauren Bush, the model and philanthropist niece of George W. Bush tied the knot last weekend with fashion guru Ralph Lauren’s son, David.
Apparently the new bride will take her husband’s name and add it to her own, making her, well, Lauren Bush-Lauren!
Naturally, the bride’s gown was a hit, having been designed by her famous father in law, and it is said to have been an “intricately embroidered Victorian-style gown”.
Lauren arrived at the ceremony, held on Ralph Lauren’s 17,000-acre Colorado ranch, in a horse-drawn carriage and married David in a traditional Jewish ceremony.
Guests were asked to dress in Black Tie, but “with a Western twist,” a fitting request given the ranch was where parts of John Wayne’s classic flick True Grit was filmed.
Yee ha!
Tell us what you you think about Lauren’s new name?
Do you know of any particularly ear-catching name combos that have resulted from marriage? Anyone remember Corky Sherwood-Forest from Murphy Brown or The Wedding Singer’s Julia Gulia?
